Mrs. Paula Monjane is the Executive Director of Mozambique Civil Society Capacity Building Centre (CESC). She was former director of knowledge management at the Foundation of Community Development (FDC) in Mozambique where she also served as acting executive director for two years.
Paula serves in a number of regional and national governance and advisory structures. She Chaired the State of the Union Coalition, a Pan –African group of Non State actors that tracks the African Union instruments and was a trustee of the Southern Africa Trust. Paula is a board member of Open Society for Southern Africa (OSISA), Chair of the assembly of Action Aid Mozambique, committee member of the management of the civil society support mechanism (MASC) in Mozambique and coordinating member of the Mozambique civil Society Budget Forum (FMO). She is a social activist with senior management experience with both grassroots and global dialogue experience. She has extensive experience in civic engagement in governance and development work for more than twenty years. She has published reports on civil society in Mozambique and holds a Master of Arts degree in Development Studies from the institute of Social Studies in The Hague, Netherlands.
