This project is an awareness campaign and capacity building of critical stakeholders in Zimbabwe on the role and importance of ECDE. This project was initiated by the Education Coalition of Zimbabwe (ECOZI. Even though the Zimbabwean government introduced ECDE classes at primary level; there are challenges with implementation of this directive. Distance, lack of awareness on importance of ECDE on the part of parents, inadequate funding, untrained teachers, absence of infrastructure and narrow conceptualization of ECDE are some of the challenges making the implementation of this policy directive ineffective.

As part of this project, ECOZI seeks to train and build capacity of critical stakeholders; education officers, heads, teachers, parents and responsible authorities on the importance of ECDE, mobilise parents to bring children of the ECDE centres and  raise awareness of stakeholders on the importance of ECDE. This project will also raise awareness at community level targeting both men and women in order to make men play a role in ECDE delivery.
