Journaliste en Danger/Journalists in Danger (JED)

In compliance with the Congolese legislation regarding non-profit associations, JED is registered by the direction of religions and associations of the Ministry of Justice under the number F.92/5337 (In reference to the letter Nr S.G. 20/052/99 of 2 February 1999). JED is an impartial organsation, founded in Kinshasa by a group of Congolese journalists that is dedicated to the defence, and promotion, of press freedom.

Rhodes University Sol Plaatje Institute

Rhodes University’s Sol Plaatje Institute (SPI) for Media Leadership is an associate institute of the University’s School of Journalism and Media Studies. Established in 2002, the SPI’s core mandate is to educate and train both practising and emerging media managers and leaders from and for Africa. Since its launch, more than 2,500 practising media leaders from across Africa have been trained by the SPI through its professional business and editorial short courses, and nearly 200 postgraduate students have graduated with an honours degree-level formal qualification in media management.
